Actually, I’ll have a deeper and better presence in their lives than I’ve had while on earth.) I want people around me who are happy remembering the good times, and grateful that I’ll be going to a more spiritual and spirited way of life."

Father Paul's final book, Why We Love Them So: Surviving the Loss of an Animal Friend, is now available. All proceeds donated to The Perseus Foundation.

Father Paul Keenan passed away on June 10, 2008, just three days before his 62nd birthday. He has been a wise and compassionate counselor and a dear friend to so many. Father Paul was a generous, loving soul who always had a kind, healing word of encouragement to share. He is deeply missed.

Join us in celebrating and remembering his soulful life, which he devoted to God and helping others, through his service as a Catholic priest for over 31 years, his radio ministry and his many books and columns. Father Paul was a great light in our lives. His work and legacy live on in the many people he has inspired. We grieve, yet we know he is in Heaven, smiling upon us.

"Father Paul's beloved kitty Princess died at the end of January, 2017. She had one grand mal seizure and little ones for 17 months, then went to her Daddy. Feisty to the end. She wasn't eating much at the end. Night before, she still wanted the treats she loved. Actually, pawed the bag from the hand feeding her, apparently, not quickly enough. Dear is still with us, getting old, 20 years.. Almost always a good girl, Dear & Sweetheart are perfect names for her."
